What is the Scheme?

The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a flagship initiative launched by the Government of India. The scheme aims to provide free electricity (up to 300 units per month) to 1 crore households across India by installing rooftop solar systems.

By participating in this scheme, households can not only zero out their electricity bills but also earn income by selling surplus power back to the DISCOMs (Distribution Companies).

Subsidy Structure (2024-25)

System Capacity	Subsidy Amount
Up to 2 kW	₹30,000 per kW (Total ₹60,000 for 2kW)
Additional 1 kW (Total 3 kW)	+ ₹18,000
Total for 3 kW & Above	₹78,000 (Fixed Maximum)

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)

Must be an Indian Citizen owning a house.
Must have a valid electricity connection.
Roof should be shadow-free and suitable for installation.

Important Rules

DCR Modules Mandatory: To avail subsidy, you must use "Domestic Content Requirement" (Made in India) solar panels. We use approved DCR modules.
Vendor Registration: Installation must be done by a National Portal registered vendor.
Net Metering: A bi-directional meter is mandatory to record export/import units.
